The apartment is part of a large farmhouse  belonging to the Fondora family and parts of it date back to the 11th century. The estate has a rich history and one of its most illustrious guests was Dante Alighieri between 1311-1314. The apartment itself was the family home of a famous Tuscan artist Lorenzo Viani. Now restored it still retains all the typical magnificent Tuscan features of farmhouses such as chestnut beams, cotto floors and views over sweeping vineyards and olive groves. The slightly elevated position allows breathtaking views  over the medieval towers of Lucca and beyond to Pistoia.

Being 250 metres above sea level and west of Lucca, the air is fresher in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Lucca is 8 kms away, Pisa is 25 kms and Florence is 45 kms.
